Bueno : is an adjective. Remenber that some masculine adjectives precede by the noun lose their final vowel o syllable..

El es un buen Chico o El chico es bueno ( do not droped the vowel because it does not precede a noun)

BIEN : is an adverb. Remenber adverbs modify verbs.
